A man the U.S. Attorney in Denver said was drunk and inappropriately touching fellow passengers forced a JetBlue flight to make an unscheduled landing in Denver Friday morning.
Flight 358 from Burbank, Calif. to New York landed at Denver International Airport after the man would not obey flight attendants and his “assaultive behavior,” said Jeff Dorschner of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver.
Gregory Meyer, 47, from Studio City, was arrested by Denver police at the airport.
Dorschner said he smelled of alcohol when he boarded the plane and was speaking loudly.
“He stroked one female passenger’s arm and grabbed her waist and tried to grab her hand,” Dorschner said. “Meyer also grabbed the head of another female passenger who was seated in front of him.”
Flight attendants did not serve him any alcohol. Meyer had brought vodka on board the plane and took an Ambien sleeping pill, Dorschner said.
He is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court at 2 p.m. If convicted Meyer could face up to 6 months in jail and hefty fines.
